Speaking Assessment: Cities and Farms Fresh Start #1: Describing a Busy Street Scene

The student will create a media presentation, not a Power Point. Media tools could include Prezi, Glogster, a movie, etc. Option 1: ELL Administrator Interview- Interview a district administrator on ELL policies, programs for ELL, Research ESL enrollments, Percentage of ESL endorse teachers in relation to amount of classrooms with ELL . Prepare a media presentation on what you learned. Option 2: ESL Plan: State Report- Prepare a media presentation about your state's ESL Plan; how they are applying OCR Guidelines and other state/federal regulations, entry and exit criteria; identify language learning and teaching concepts. Provide background information of your state ELL enrollment, languages/cultures represented, services provided, etc.

This rubric will evaluate and assess the students investigation, narrative, and oral presentation.

Test where students name the four (4) types of sentences, naming the purpose for each type of sentence, listing ending punctuation, and giving an example of each type.
