2 rubric Cars, Catapults and Quadratics       popup preview
This project requires students to construct catapults in order to launch M&Ms at a target. Through data collection, students will determine quadratic equation to model the flight of the M&M. The catapult will be moved to the top of a flat surface where students will use their equation to determine the flight time of the projectile and then estimate the horizontal distance traveled. This estimate will be used to determine where a target should be placed.

8 rubric Volume of a Glass Project       popup preview
This project requires that the students collect data to generate an equation or equations in order to model the curve of a glass. The equation is then used to determine the volume of the glass using a Volume of Revolution formula from Chapter 6. This volume will be compared to the actual volume of the object. The results will then also be used to determined a related rates problem.
