Celtic stencil Prints with Rice Paste

Students paint a self-portrait with a quote.

A rubric that properly evaluates the artistic process. It measures the various phases and approaches that are necessary in the assessment of a project or a work of art.

Students will create a watercolor painting which contains a duck drawing taken from sketches and photos done at Flyways Waterfowl Museum with other natural elements present in the background. Students will create a foreground, middle ground, and background using watercolor techniques. This unit will help students examine the history of landscape paintings in light of current ecological concerns.

Students will build an amphora using a cartoon, add handles, underglaze and carve.

Student's had a an independent project based on pastels and people.

Develop a self-portrait in chalk pastels that incorporates: accurate proportions, specific color scheme, and textural elements.

Students will create an edition of 10-15 color relief prints + artists proofs.

To interpret a photograph on scratchboard using a variety of mark making and value creating a dynamic and visually interesting composition.

Create a stained glass window in the Prairie Style of Frank Lloyd Wright. Your window must be at 10" by 14".

Students will present a 15 slide presentation of their semester's artwork. Presentation is 15 slides long with an artist statement supporting slides describing the artwork with the Art Elements and Principles of Design ending with a reflection of the Course

Create a Self Portrait which includes personal words. Emphasis on tints/shades.
