Students will create a poetry book that will include 5 original poems: 1 Cinquain, 1 Simile, 1 Metaphor, 1 Haiku and 1 Acrostic with alliteration. At least one poem will be presented orally. Your poetry book must also include an introductory "Dear Reader" letter explaining why the student picked his/her theme and 2 paragraphs reflecting on discussing the project pros and cons. Students will also include some type of art form (original or otherwise) that best represents the poetry book theme.

Students must look at the figurative meaning of a chosen poem. A title page must reflect a knowledge and understanding of poetry and poetic terms.
