Write an autobiographical essay in which you introduce yourself to me. Provide a brief life history including information about your family, where you live (and have lived), your pets, your favorite things, etc.) When I finish reading your autobiography, I should feel like I have known you forever. It should be AT LEAST TWO PAGES in length. Double-Space Times New, Roman, Arial, Calibri font should be used. Use your best writing skills. (No spelling, grammar, punctuation problems!)

The computer based portfolio documents the development and possession of specific skills and learning throughout a student's high school career, and generates a living transcript that can be used by both the student and institutions as evidence of those skills. The portfolio allows for instant and immediate student and institution interaction. An electronic portfolio is a purposeful collection of work that tells the story of your body of work, including achievements, growth, vision, re?ection, skills, experience, education, training, and career goals. It is a tool that gives a complete picture of who you are—your experience, your education, your accomplishments—and what you have the potential to become.

Students research careers in the Human Services field, colleges, conduct personal interviews, and complete a job shadowing assignment. Students create a resume, cover letter, application, participate in mock job interviews, a post-interview Thank You note,and a personal plan for reaching their career goal. Total Possible Points: 150

Find an article that contains a story about a teenager/child/college-student whose life was affected (positively or negatively) as a result of one of the 4 the topics discussed in class: 1. Cyber-bullying 2. Pornography 3. Sexual Predators 4. Damaged Reputations

Collect two computer ads from your local paper or store sales paper. Attach the ads on colored paper with a comparison table below it. Fill out each section of the comparison table. Based on your comparisons, type a short paragraph (in Microsoft Word) explaining which computer you would purchase and why.

Find a current (no more than 6 months old) technology-related article on the internet from a reliable source (.org, .gov, .edu,) or a recognized newspaper or magazine (NY times-OK, Enquirer-Not OK). If taken from the internet should be downloaded and printed out or emailed to me. Write at least 2 paragraphs summarizing the article (including WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY, HOW) if applicable.) Your summary should be typed in Times New Roman Font Size 12. Make sure your name and class period is on your summary.

Students are eligible for induction into the National Honor Society starting in the 2nd semester of their sophomore year. Student must have an 85 GPA (not rounded) in order to be considered. Students will be required to fill out the student activity information form, gather teacher recommendations, and write a paragraph detailing how he/she exemplifies 3 or more character traits. All materials will be given to students and must be submitted by the due date. The gathered information will then be scored using the NHS rubric. Students will be informed by letter during spring break whether they were accepted or not. The induction ceremony will be in the spring.
