A rubric to use for grading creative writing assignments including poetry.

This is the rubric for the character comparison for A Good Man is Hard to Find.

Students will write a school/class anthem that incorporates all the common elements as determined in class by listening to national anthems of various countries. They will create their own lyrics and can either create their own music or use a song they already know. It must be a song complete with lyrics, music and performance.

Write an expositon about the set topic.

Students will create a poetry book that will include 5 original poems: 1 Cinquain, 1 Simile, 1 Metaphor, 1 Haiku and 1 Acrostic with alliteration. At least one poem will be presented orally. Your poetry book must also include an introductory "Dear Reader" letter explaining why the student picked his/her theme and 2 paragraphs reflecting on discussing the project pros and cons. Students will also include some type of art form (original or otherwise) that best represents the poetry book theme.

Used for grading poems written by students.

20x20 visual and audio presentation. Twenty slides are displayed for twenty seconds each. The presenter speaks to each slide as they play through. Goal is to be creative and poetic in design and speech. Entertain us please.
