After learning and identifying elements of poetry, students will develop and create a poetry book that includes at least one poem for each type of poem taught: Acrostic, Haiku, Cinquain, Limerick, Free Verse and Diamante

This rubric is designed for a teacher to assess reading comprehension strategies. This could be used for a week or unit long period. Resources are provided, but could be adjusted to use journals, literacy groups, etc.

Our School Improvement Committee is using the 5 Reading Strategies to help improve reading comprehension across the curriculum.

This rubric is to be used to assess a student's final copy of a newspaper article.

This rubric will assist in assessing a final project in which students create a fantasy land. The students will outline and design a visual project that incorporates the elements of traditional fantasy. They are then to complete a final presentation which will include a map and written work about their imaginary place. In addition, they will be presenting this orally to the class.

Art students should be able to successfully critique their own artwork and that of others using terminology that is understandable and relevant to those in the field of art.
