The student will be given a paragraph to read to the teacher individually. They will be graded on flow, pronunciation, and preparedness.

Students will create a visual organizer for the weather terms and related vocabulary. Interior descriptions should be applied to all four triangles. Total points for each triangle is 20.

Students will choose their own partner. Together they will develop a dialogue that both uses the grammar and vocabulary of the unit as well as demonstrates comprehension of the culture associated with the essential question. Students will begin work in class where they will receive feedback and guidance as needed. Work will be completed outside of class with rough draft being submitted digitally for final comments and revision. Students will present dialogue to the class using props and scenery as desired. Fellow students will listen and answer questions about presentations.

You and a group of classmates create 6 sentences in which you demonstrate your understanding of the correct usage of the verbe avoir. You will create sentences that include many of the chapter's vocabulary (la famille et la maison). You must create complete sentences (written out in Francais). Your group will write the sentences in large bold letters along with a color drawing.

Family photo album project--5-8family members, descriptive sentences per person using possessive adjectives, family vocabulary, adjective agreement and the conjugation of basic French verbs.

Self-assessment

For vocabulary or spelling, use with fill in the blanks (reading and writing) and or sentence construction.

Grade 8 students will create a poster demonstrating their likes and dislikes (name, age, activities, etc)

Grade 7 students will create a poster demonstrating their likes and dislikes (name, age, activities, etc)

Design a board game based on the French verbs "avoir" and "être".

Students write a one-page letter in French and English (only 1-2 topics in English) including the following: name, age, family, school, sports and hobbies.

French role-play

The students are to create a children's book or write and illustrate a story in French.

Using the French/English dictionary look up the following 20 words. Identify what part of speech it is. If it is a noun indicate whether it is masculine or feminine. Also use the word in a sentence to give meaning.
