Performing Standard at work: TH:Pr5.1.II.a: Refine a range of acting skills to build a believable and sustainable drama/theatre performance.

Create a set of knowledge cards for the figurative language vocabulary words. On one side of a 3x5 index card, draw an icon, image or sketch. On the other side of the card, write the term and your brief definition. Create a separate card for each type of irony.

Students define, illustrate and provide an example sentence for one of their figurative language vocabulary words.

After reading an anthology of short stories or poems or a collection of fables, students will create a 1-3 minute audio recording of an excerpt from their reading selection in order to improve their intonation, pronunciation, and command of the conventions of standard English grammar.
