A rubric that assesses students' use of the writing process. This rubric also assesses students' reflection of their writing.

This is a rubric for a poetry book consisting of free verse poetry.

Poetry on Social Issue/ Reading of Poetry

Research the approved topic. Submit one 2-3 page typed paper, double spaced, 12 point font following MLA guidelines. Include a bibliography citing at least 3 resources used researching the paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and bibliography.

The student is asked to write a research paper on one of the great American or English writers. Student should provide background on the writer, along with writing style and general knowledge of works.

Develop a glog in which you incorporate different elements of satire. Your glog should include a correct definition of satire, present classical examples(such as authors), and also show knowledge of modern day satire examples. Try to give at least three examples of satire through the two time frames, including images or video clips. A clear understanding of the material should be shown through your blog by providing relevant examples and explaining why at least one of the examples represents satire.
