Students are to participate in class effectively and follow directions while engaging in classroom activities.

The purpose of this unit is to facilitate student learning about the world in which we live. Students will receive a 'International Travel Packety' packet to complete. The student will pretend that he/she is going to visit a minimum for 8-10 days and will make round trip travel arrangements to and from their assigned country. To be prepared for the trip, the student will use technology to conduct internet research in order to be able to answer questions about their assigned country’s resources, culture, government, religion, geography, political atmosphere, social events, recreational pastimes, history, economics, etc. After the student has gathered all of the research, they will synthesize the information and write a report about their country and then create a power point presentation to go with their report.

Objective: To create a semi-professional newscast that includes topics that have been previously studied in conjunction with topics currently being studied in Spanish II. The topics include weather, sports, leisure activities, parties/celebrations, current events in the Spanish-speaking world, current events within the local Spanish community, clothing, fashion, food, and music. Students will work in small groups to create an assigned portion of the newscast. Students will then help arrange the individual presentations to create a final whole-class production. Students will be graded on an individual work, group work, and the outcome of the production as a whole class.

Students create a restaurant and develop a menu for it, using Spanish. Students must research a region of Spain in order to provide a menu full of food and drink that is typical to that region.

You are creating a menu for a new American restaurant in Spain. You must give your restaurant a name (in Spanish) and create the menu entirely in Spanish. You must use the vocabulary.

Create a skit that takes place in a restaurant. One or two customers order food and beverages from a waiter. Each character must have a minimum of 7 lines, memorized, and all in Spanish.

1. Find a Hispanic recipe that looks good or interesting. 2. Make the recipe. 3. Write down in Spanish steps of how to make the recipe. 4. Bring your creation to class. 5. Present/explain the food in Spanish with a description and how to make the food. Then share.
