This project is worth a total of 55 points. Students will work individually research a project of their choosing. They will create a project to show the energy source that they have chosen and share information in a presentation to the class. Participation and time on task will be based on teacher notes and observations and a self-eval.

This project is worth a total of 100 points. Students will work in groups to research possible alternative energy sources for a new school energy plant. They will create a project to show the energy source that they have chosen and share information in a presentation to the class. Participation will be based on teacher notes and observations and a peer review. The remaining 25 points will be earned with the unit science notes.

Student demonstrates understanding of Newton's Three Laws of Motion. Each project must include the description of Newton's Three Laws of Motion and illustrate/demonstrate accurately each Law of Motion. Project must include demonstrated math and language arts skills throughout assessment project.

This is an assessment of a science portfolio that students will have created over the entire semester. Each individual assignment will have already been marked so this is an assessment of the portfolio as a whole. Both the teacher and the student will mark the portfolio according to this rubric.

For the final assessment of the birds unit, students will draw a bird with detailed beak, body and feet and also draw a nest with the correct number and color of eggs the chosen bird usually lays. They will also create a background habitat. The name of the bird, the name of the habitat , what the nest is made of and the number and color of eggs usually laid is neatly labeled in complete sentences.

Students create a comic strip describing one of Newton's Three Laws of Motion or the Law of Universal Gravitation. Each comic strip must include the one law, a description of the law, drawing illustrating the law, and an explanation by a character of the law.

To earn credit for this project, students must use the list of organisms that were previously introduced and modeled to construct, title, and color a food web.

Students will create a food web consisting of organisms found in a specific ecosytem that they choose. Each student must name the organisms, identify the abiotic and biotic factors in the habitat, show the flow of energy in the food web, classify the organism as producer, consumer (primary, secondary, or tertiary), or decomposer; and indicate human impact in that ecosystem.

This scoring guide focuses on content of a slideshow that includes photos of plants and/or plant parts. Students are to design a "photo quiz" based on the content of the plant unit. i.e. Are the pictured plants monocots or dicots?
