Because research paper assessments are both objective and subjective, this detailed rubric will assure that a certain level of objectivity is maintained. As a result, learners are more clear about the expectations prior to assessment and are clear about their areas of weakness and strength after the assessment.

Capstone Presentation Rubric

This rubric is designed to evaluate persuasive essays on a range of topics.

Students chose a research topic and created a thesis that could be either explanatory or argumentative; conducted research, and wrote their information into a paper.

Students are expected to complete the assigned writing & reading and come to class fully prepared to discuss and critically analyze the reading material.

Student Analysis of self selected poem

Research the approved topic. Submit 4-6 typed pages of publishing the results of your research. Include a Works Cited page with at least 3 sources used researching the paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, and relevance of included information. Grade will be based on organization, clarity, use of transitions, appropriate voice, correct citation format, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
