Intel Essentials Course Rubric- This rubric is from the Intel online resources for the course. Description : A rubric in student language written for middle school students to self-assess a video production.

You have a choice of different projects for the cell unit including: a cell story, a cell storyboard, a cell analogy poster, or a cell model. All of them will be scored based on the same criteria.

This isn't really a rubric... I am using it for scoring the weather cycler forecasting activity we completed in class.

Students had four choices of project ideas for the weather unit. This score will reflect their finished project as well as the class presentation.

You will be required to read sections from the textbook for this assignment.

You will need to gather information from different resources. You have options on which resources you want to use including: videos shown or watched in class, united streaming videos, television shows, magazine articles, newspaper articles, educational websites, or books. You do not need to complete all the items shown below. You can choose which ones you want to do. The requirement is for your score to add up to eight or more points.

Students are asked to write statements that they think they know about the unit's objectives before we begin studying the topics.

Create a card for new words in our current unit. You need to also include pictures to help show your understanding.

If you chose to build a rocket you will need to grade it.

If you did not build a rocket at all, complete this and rocket poster 1 rubrics.

If you chose to build a rocket, with our without a partner, you will need to grade it.

A general overview of two major advances in rockets including liquid fuel and multistage rockets.

Students will create a Life Box out of a milk carton do show the 4 essential needs for living things. Students will decorate the outside of the box with illustrations or photographs of their favorite people or things (parents, siblings, pets, food)

Students will be divided into groups. Three groups will do a space race timeline and present it. Group 1 will do Project Mercury; Group 2 will do Project Gemini and group 3 will do Project Apollo.

Students research and create visuals about individual organs in order to teach their classmates and create a wanted poster.

Students will create a 3 dimensional poster of a chosen cloud, and presnt information on the cloud such as what altitutde it forms at, what height it reaches, when it might form, and any other interestig information about their cloud

Students will use three large sheets of construction paper folded in half to create a book with a title page, five different insect profile sections with drawings/illustrations/photographs of the insect on one page and information about the insect on the facing page. The rubric is attached to the back page.

The students will put together a poster to show their knowledge the impact of an earthquake to a society. The poster will contain information that the students collected regarding earthquakes based on library/internet research.
