Students will know homework expectations which would include completeness, accuracy, requirements, legibility and time management.

The students will demonstrate the ability to solve a real world problem by identifying the proper force of action when it comes to protecting and sustaining our natural environment; which in this case is the ocean. The students will identify the importance of our oceans, and design a plan to utilize this finite resource in way that benefits the greater good of humanity. The students will create a working website, where all students in the school, (perhaps eventually the County) can participate on a student-wide level to help clean out the ocean and pick up trash. In this organized- student based website; the students will be able to log on, post the hours they picked up trash, who they were with, the day they went, what they found, and anything thing else relative they would like to add about the trip (like pictures, videos etc..). The plan is to help clean up the ocean and involve a Student Earth Caring Community.

Design a board game based on seven events that you feel were most important on America's road to independence. Game can be in the style of an existing game (Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, etc) or something new and unique.

Scenario: Plan the flowers for a wedding utilizing the internet or magazines. Select the theme, style and type of flowers needed. Select and plan all floral pieces needed for the wedding and reception.

The following rubric will list the specific areas that students will be assessed during informal academic class work.

This lesson will cover plants. We will be able to identify 6 common plants, label their parts, plant them, group seeds.

Used in the shop to grade how students successfully manage their time while accomplishing a given task.

Any voliolations in Safety, will result in no credit for Professionalism, procedure and knowledge areas. Student will be removed from task until he/she demonstrates knowledge of proper safety procedures and rules.

Investigate and understand basic plant anatomy and life processes.

Reference assigned chapter in textbook (Chapter 1). Prepare a pictorial poster-board ( half-board) that depicts at least (18) of the following terms: Entrepreneur, Venture, Entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial, Economics, Free enterprise system, Profit, Service Factors of productions, Scarcity, Demand. Elastic, Inelastic Diminishing marginal utility, Equilibrium, Environment, Enterprise zones, Opportunity, Start-up resources, New venture organization, Business failure and discontinuance. You must have a seperate picture or pictures for each, include all of the factors of production and draw a supply and demand chart to explain equilibrium of a product. You will have to present your ideas to the class, so make sure you can articulate your pictures. You may put the words for the picture on the back of the poster. No words should be on the front of the poster board.

Apply knowledge of plant anatomy and the functions of plant structures to activities associated with plant systems.

Research and develop an 7-minute Power Point presentation or a three page research paper about business ownership. Include adequate information to inform your audience about the subject. If you use Power Point, include appropriate templates and design tools, clip art, transitions, pictures, videos, etc. Make sure you consider your timing and include enough research material to meet the assignment criteria. Proper spelling and grammatics are important and will be assessed as part of the overall grade. Consider and respond to the questions on your handout.
