I require notebooks for my science class and This is the rubric I use!!

Choose a Community Worker and research five facts about that worker.

The students will be creating a postcard that displays a picture, on the front, of something in their community . On the other side, the students will be writing a letter to someone that tells about their community.

Create a Community Project to show what you have learned about what a community is.

Getting to know you activity. First social studies and language arts grade.

Student will write a paragraph with a main idea, supporting details and a conclusion .

Students will produce a product that demonstrates comprehension and grade level standard

General Math Rubric

A grading rubric for 3rd grade science journals.

This rubric is for daily math journal responses (specifically for second grade)

Scores the set-up and intitial start of a Math Vocabulary and Math Reflections Journal

Group members need to decide which part of the community they will be responsible for creating and which of the writing assignments they will complete. Write your decisions on paper and turn this in to Mrs. Grier before beginning. The writing choices include: A persuasive paper stating the reasons someone should move to your community (include sensory details); An expository paper explaining in detail how to make a building or vehicle from paper; A narrative that creates a story based on the objects depicted in your community (name the places).

Students will listen to a story or read a story and respond to the writing prompt.
