Compairing two quantities using various methods of ratio representation, both numerically and visually.

Identify multiple text structures, and utilize each set of indicators to accurately complete multiple graphic organizers.

Students will demonstrate their understanding of expository text structure (comparison/contrast, cause/effect, sequence of events, problem/ solution, and description/list) They will read an article and find the correct expository text structure used. They will complete the appropriate graphic organizer for the text structure.

This rubric will help teachers to assess students' retelling of a passage read, and image viewed, and includes effective inference construction using multiple sources. This assessment can be used to monitor comprehension and assess understanding.

Represent linear equations by plotting points in the coordinate plane. Students will be given ordered pairs to plot on a graph to create polygons.

Students will learn the factors of numbers and find the prime factorization of numbers.

Students will demonstrate how to calculate to find the rate, and unit rate, for a given variable, using a standardized algorithm - Amount Paid/Amount Purchased.

Your 5th grade teacher has asked for your help. A teacher friend at Old Mill Ele. has a 5th grade class that is having difficulty with multiplying and dividing decimals. With a partner, create a presentation that addresses: 1. Explanation of the place value system. 2. How to multiply decimals. 3. How to divide decimals. 4. When good multiplication and division skills with decimals are needed and why they are important. Include examples, and visual models to help the class have a clear understanding of how to work with decimals. Your presentation needs to have multiple representations using pictures, numbers and words. Be prepared to present this to the class.
