Lord of the Flies: Write a paragraph about one of the symbols used in the novel.

Students will select one chapter from the novel to compare with the PBS movie viewed in class using three points of comparison.

Students respond analytically to daily questions from a literary text. Responses are completed in class with the use of the book.

Students were asked to respond to the topic of themes in Lord of the Flies. The had to develop a thesis, organize their ideas into an essay, with introductory paragraph containing a thesis statement; included supporting body paragraphs containing proof from the text, transtion words, and ending with a concluding paragraph which restates the thesis.
