This assignment is a component of a community project in an RN to BSN nursing program. The purpose of this assigment is, after having done a community assessment, to identify and describe an identified health concern that could benefit from education.

Review of Literature (Journals, not books). Research a literacy topic that interests you. Evidence-based, contributes to nursing practice. Submit one 5-7 page typed paper, double spaced, APA guidelines. Include references citing at least 3 resources used researching the paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the research topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and references

Familiarize yourselves with existing research and theoretical writings pertinent to your topic. Find the best empirical (data-based) article(s) or an assigned article that addresses this topic. Describe the article you reviewed, its methods and findings, strengths and weaknesses. Make recommendations for further refining research in this area, including concrete suggestions (e.g., additional theoretical considerations, highlighting relevance of specific variables or alternative measures for key constructs) for a possible replication and extension of the study you review.

The students will work to put together a poster for display. The poster will contain relevant information directly related to the theme of Elder Safety. Students will provide information on their chosen topic in a creative and colorful poster.

Using the ANA Code of Ethics, the Nightingale Pledge, a nursing theory of your choice, and your personal spirituality develop a professional plan that will guide a novice nurse’s practice in a specific Community Health setting (public health nurse, occupational health nurse, parish nurse, etc.). Be sure to describe the specific area of nursing you have chosen and describe what it will take to be successful. Each of the listed areas must be thoroughly addressed. 10 – 15 pages.

This is a rubric designed to measure a student's reflection and application on an assigned evidenced-based journal article.

Find and investigate a services or resource in your community that an elderly person could visit or be associated with. Create a brochure or poster designed to make seniors aware of the service, what it offers, and how it might benefit them.

Choose a full-length article that reviews research on the author or work studied from a recent issue (last 5 years) of a scholarly journal that is offered or subscribed to by the College’s library. Be sure to provide an electronic copy or a hard copy of your article because you'll need to turn it in with your paper.
