Rubric for Fraction-Decimal-Percent Project

Students will use the materials we recycled in our classroom to make a project for their Teacher/Client. 1. What is your item? 2. How did your create your project? 3. How can someone benefit from using your recycled item? Students will present their projects to the class.

Students design and produce wearable clothing from a minimum of three recycled, reused or repurposed items using an obvious theme. The final presentation will be a "fashion" show with student write-ups describing their clothing, theme and their recyclables. Clothing must include: a hat, shoes, a top and a bottom (pants or skirt) or dress and an accessory item, such as belt, jewelry, gloves, leg warmers, glasses, etc. Items must hang on a hanger and be removable by the wearer.

Using your personal experiences and your families you will create a timeline of your family. The timeline is to be no longer than 400 years and no less than 100 years of your families history. You must include 10 personal events and 5 historical events. You will use several illustrations or photos to help identify these special events. Your timeline must be organized, neat and accurate. YOU MUST HAVE THIS RUBRIC WITH YOU WHEN YOU PRESENT YOUR TIMELINE.

Students completed self-portrait drawing exercises. Students then applied color and outline to the portrait, a colored outline to the continuous contour, and a black outline to the standard portrait.

Students are to use their sketches and research to create and design a self portrait of their historical figures.

Students learned some tools for effective note-taking and were given an opportunity to use these skills to take notes on a specific topic when given information.

The students will work to put together a diorama for display. The diorama will contain relevant information directly related to the theme of a landmark in the Jersey City. Students will provide information on their landmark and create a poster, power-point, and diorama (half or full sized) and make it colorful for presentation

Write an information report on an animal from one of the 5 animal groups. You must include 3 facts about the animal & pictures of the animal in its habitat. Include any other interesting information.

Student Power Points were designed to provide information about a specific ecosystem and its environment.

Students will work individually to create a new species of plant. Students will need to describe the environment needed for their plant and create a new plant which is going to be strong and resilient enough to survive in that environment. Students will need to consider what this plant is going to look like, what it is going to produce, how it is going to get its food and water, and what it needs to survive.
