Write a newspaper article about an ecosytem under threat by human activities, along with actions that can be taken to correct the imbalance, and a concrete step that our students could take.

Students will build a diorama that shows an ecosystem under threat from human activities. At least one of the activities that is threatening should be depicted, as well as the parts of the ecosytem that are at-risk. A separate report or poster may be utilized to illustrate possible actions that can restore balance, as well as one concrete action that the class can take.

The students will put together a mobile that tells the story of an ecosytem under threat, along with concrete steps that can be taken to save it.

You will write and perform a play or skit that tells the story of an ecosystem under threat and what can be done to save it.

Your nine weeks project will consist of creating a ecosystem action plan scrapbook. You are to take on the role of an animal in your ecosytem. Your scrapbook should cover what life is like in the ecosystem (biotic and abiotic), what are the threats, consequences to you and other species if nothing is done, actions that could restore the balance, and something we can do as a class. Pictures and text should accompany each page.

The student/pair of students will investigate an ecosystem. The project will include the climate, location(map), animals and plants (including endangered), and a minimum of one food web in the ecosystem, and any environmental concerns and/or efforts toward conservation of species or habitats. The Products will include one written report, a shadowbox model, and either an oral report, power point presentation, or video.

Students will create a children's book or write and illustrate a story that has relates to assigned biome.

Students will be evaluated on the following criteria; Organization - Report flows logically, Content News report explains issue, Graphics - utilized, Eye Contact - focused on audience, Grammar- Correct, Clarity - audible

Create a board or card game, or other type of interactive activity, to cover the concepts within our Ecology Vocabulary words. All words/concepts must be covered completely and correctly. You may model your game after commercially available games such as Monopoly etc.

Students will work collaboratively on a tri-fold poster project based on ecosystem action plan case study. The group will prepare a tri-fold poster to represent their topic.
