12"X18" monochromatic painting

Student's had a an independent project based on another artist. Students had to create a composition that was able to emulate the style of any artist of their choice. Students will be graded on over all composition, connection with style of the artist of their choice, class spent in and out of the classroom, progress in their skill/design level, their critique and blog journal.

Students will create an Altered Book

Students will use "found materials" recyle them to create a sculpture

Students will create a sculpture using wire and considering proportion of a figure in motion.

Students will learn about subtractive versus additive sculptures and carve a sculpture from plaster and vermiculite

Students use techniques of Pointillism to create art work of their choice.

Organic, Bas (low) relief sculpture in colored construction paper inspired by the organic sculptures of Jen Stark.

Art projects without a specific rubric or other assessment criteria will be evaluated and graded using the following rubric.

Students will create a mosaic using ceramic tiles. First, they will create a working drawing and then plan out the position and colors of the tiles in the space.

These three projects comprise a basic review of color theory concepts that will be reference points for all planned projects for the year.
