Students ask themselves how much has my behavior changed? Do I understand when to show respect? Do I know why it is important?

By XX/XX/XXXX Student will demonstrate respectful behavior and language at least 75% of the time across school settings as measured on a 4 point scale and/or discipline records

This rubric will be used to evaluate how a student works and participates during activities (work, class, meeting, assembly, etc.). I have purposely weighted each criteria this way as I believe this rubric will be fairer to the lower level students that are trying to participate rather than those that are largely unresponsive in class - Fair = 3 and Poor = 1

This rubric can be used to assess the social skills levels of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Students will learn the importance of respecting other people. They will learn examples of ways that they can show respect to other people, such as: be a good listener (listen with your eyes, ears, body, mouths), being helpful to others, playing nice with each other, sharing, and keeping their promises. They will learn this because it teaches students important ideas about how to interact with others. This topic has connections to other topics, such as Treaties, which will be touched on in the next lesson.

Students will be able to identify positive ways of handling anger as opposed to the negative ways that individuals are currently using to cope with anger.
