This rubric will guide you to know what is expected in your discussion board posts. All discussion boards are worth 12 total points.

Students will use the UNRAAVEL close reading strategy to ask and answer questions about an informational text on Mary McLeod Bethune. Students will ask and answer questions about the text, referring explicitly to the text for their answers.

The students will compare and contrast 2 books that they have read. They will include 5 character comparisons, 5 character contrasts, describe the settings in each book, describe the Book Cover Information and Copywrite date, display excellent handwritting skills/written draft of book report, use Co-Writer 101 to type their report, using correct punctuation, grammar and spelling.

CCSS 3.RL.3 Describe characters in a story (e.g. their traits, motivations, or feelings) and explain how their actions contribute to the sequence of events.

Use the Frayer Model to help in comprehension of vocabulary words.

Students will create their own Fables, to include key details and a moral.

TSW read a variety of fables and be able to identify the story elements (characters, beginning, middle, end) and the moral of the fable.

Evaluates a narrative with Halloween as the main focus.

Using previous knowledge and information from the article to answer questions about the current text.

Simple rubric to grade sequence of events in the book which was analyzed in the class. Focus: proper capitalization, end marks, sequence order, and vivid details.
