Using the ANA Code of Ethics, the Nightingale Pledge, a nursing theory of your choice, and your personal spirituality develop a professional plan that will guide a novice nurse’s practice in a specific Community Health setting (public health nurse, occupational health nurse, parish nurse, etc.). Be sure to describe the specific area of nursing you have chosen and describe what it will take to be successful. Each of the listed areas must be thoroughly addressed. 10 – 15 pages.

A rubric that provides an objective basis for creating and grading care plans from beginning nursing students in their first med/surg clinical. Score from 0-100%.

Each students will research a disease, illness, or condition of their choosing and relay what was learned to the class. Information on the disease should include the physiology and etiology of the condition, as well as discussion of diagnostics, nursing assessments (subjective & objective), medical management, nursing diagnosis and planning and nursing interventions & special consideration. Rationales for nursing interventions should be explained and discussed. Presentations can be in any format that the student desires. A written summary of the presentation and research is to be handed in, and bibliography/references are to be included for assessment.

Research the approved topic. Submit 5 - 8 page typed paper, double spaced, 12 point font following APA or MLA guidelines. You may interject your personal opinion into this paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and references.
