A mood board is a tool used by designers to help them get a good idea of what their clients are looking for. Mood boards are basically collages of items such as photographs, sketches, clippings, fabric swatches and color samples. A mood board can be actual or virtual. A mood board is used by many different types of designers such as those in fashion and interior design. Junior High Students in an Interior/Fashion Design class create their own Personal Mood Board to set the ground work for creating a project that reflects their design preferences. Materials available to students include a poster board, magazines for clipping, glue, and markers for labeling a minimum of 10 images. Students lable images using their Principle & Elements of Design Vocabulary. Students are encouraged to print out images from home and some have even asked about attaching materials like fabric and ribbon.

You have been chosen by a NYC design firm to create a “Virtual Bedroom.” Your Task is to use the following specifications to create this room. The room must contain a bed, rug, dresser, T.V., window, poster, and desk. All of these objects must be placed in the bedroom. You need to calculate the area and perimeter of each object in your bedroom. Your drawings mus be accurate measurements as specified on your worksheet. The room must be accurate from the persepective you drew it in - and it must be creative!

Students will create a poster focused on the Modern Designers: Frank Lloyd Wright & Marcel Breuer --- and Traditional: Queen Anne and Thomas Chippendale.

Students will create a video or PowerPoint talking about how, when and by whom some rooms are used in their homes. They must talk about the furniture in the room and the activities or chores related to those rooms in their homes.

Create a picture of a bedroom. The room should be in color. It should be labeled with at least 10 items from your vocabulary list and/or the supplemental list you have been given. (furniture and accessories). Then describe your room. Write 5 sentences telling where things are in the room using prepositions of place and 4 sentences about your room in general or describing the items in your room. Your final presentation is due November 26, 2010.

Students will create a dream house including 5 rooms: kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. Each room must contain 10 items/ furniture pieces. You must also choose the exterior of your home. Is it in the city, suburbs, country, etc? What does the exterior look like?

You are building your dream home! You will design a home with at least 2 floors and 5 labeled rooms on a piece of graph paper. You may include more than 1 bedroom but only 1 is counted toward the requirement. The assignment begins with drawing your dream house floor plan and labeling it in Spanish. The first part will require you to use the computer to design in detail with at least five rooms and two floors that simulates your dream home. Include floor coverings, walls, appliances, furniture, windows, stairways, doorways all labeled in Spanish. You may also include pets and/or family members doing chores. The final story board should have a minimum of 5 written sentences describing each room and the relationship of objects in each room to one another (use estar + prepositions of place). 5 paragraphs of 5 sentences each. Student will create a scrapbook for a memoir about their semester/year in the Ready, Set, Teach course.

Create a personal web site that tells the story you. Be creative and unique by using techniques you have learned about HTML. Incorporate lessons from 1-28 such as graphics, videos, animation , forms, scripts etc. into your site. Make sure to test all links prior to your presentation.

Service learning is a method that combines academic instruction, meaningful service, and critical reflective thinking to enhance learning, teaching, and civic responsibility. Use this rubric to evaluate your progress during your service learning project and once you've completed it.

Time capsule to consist of a decorated container to hold 12-15 labeled objects with an explanation of each object. Completed time capsule to reflect creativity. Must include class syllabus, pictures and favorite class projects. All items must relate to class TEKS.

you will create a documnetary on the subject of your choice to teach the class key points about the subject. The documentary must be a minimum of 4 minutes and a workcited sheet will be required.

Create a 2-3 minute video documentary about a person who: broke boundaries, discovered or explored, advanced technology or served and sacrificed themselves. In your documentary you will give facts about the person's life, support those facts with pictures and visuals and most importantly, show through evidence how this person fits the category that you have selected for him/her.

Using the furniture illustration provided, the student will create a theme, select a color scheme, and create a presentation board which displays the furniture, and accessories selected to decorate the room.

This is a weekly rubric used to evaluate participation in a hands on based furniture making class.

Students must create a blue print of one room in their house. Blue print must include 3 pieces of furniture.
