This Rubric allows students to track their effort in general during classroom lessons, activities, and projects. Students can track effort to find a link between effort and achievement.

Write a paragraph including these three key ideas about your effort-result relationship, and a prediction in conditional form: 1. Reflect on an assignment, an activity, a unit, the week, or the semester, etc. regarding how I did/results. 2. Analyze my effort in class and justify by stating the rationale for my performance which should include: attendance/RLC, ASC, homework effort, use of class time, excessive passes to restroom/nurse, etc. 3. Make a conclusion about my effort-result relationship for this class. 4. Finally, write a conditional statement to predict how I can improve my performance in class.

The purpose of this rubric is to allow the younger student to know what the expectations are for writing a comparing/contrasting essay. The student will compare and contrast the book The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling and Walt Disney's The Jungle Book. In preparation for this assignment, the student will have had instruction in the writing process, sentence structure, capitalization, end marks, read the book and viewed the movie. Students will also have had instruction using technology i.e., word processing. This can also be used for older students who lack the appropriate skills to write this type of essay.

After viewing a play, students will give a review on what they liked or did not like.

The student is to research, write, and present a biography on an important historical figure. This biography includes information on the person's early life, what led them to their chosen career or purpose, what contributions they made to society, interesting or unique facts about the person, and the student's own reflections about the impact that the person and their contributions have on modern times.

Assessment of Elementary Level Writing - ALC- fourth grade

Students will create a diorama of the animal's habitat, notecards on their animal and orally share their diorama and report.

Students create a musical instrument using recyclable products; will demonstrate how sound is produced by the instrument; will draw an illustration showing "regular" instruments that make similar sounds and naming the family of instruments to which they belong.

Objective: Create, color, and label a salt dough map of a location of your choice. You need to include the topographic information. Things you might include are latitude, longitude, rivers, lakes, mountains, major cities and any other important information.

The student will create a Diorama which includes a favorite scene in the book and an oral report describing the scene they chose (setting, important characters, how/why the scene was important to the plot), tell about the elements in their diorama and how they are related to the scene.

This rubric will assist in assessing a fiction report on a mystery. The students will read and choose a selected book on a mystery. They are then to complete a power point project with factual information of what they learned. In addition, they will be presenting their power point presentation orally.

Students will work in groups of 3 or 4. They will recreate a childrens book. The students need to make puppets to use in telling their story. Presentation should be 3-5 minutes in length. Script needs to be neatly written or typed and turned in the day of your groups puppet show.
