The students will put together an electronic presentation to show during their oral presentation. The presentation will contain information that the students collected regrading their assigned Chinese traditional festival. The oral presentation must be aligned with their electronic presentation.

You are going to make a scrapbook of this Number unit. You can include pictures, character handwriting, drawing and so on in your scrapbook as long as the content is related to this unit and can display your understanding and appreciation of this unit. You have to include at least four different forms of display. And at least include ten sentences you learned from this unit and must be your own handwriting.This project will be checked at the end of every week for progress.

Each student will use the 4.5 pairs positions words and the basic sentence patterns to write a short paragraph, describing the location of their home. The paragraph should be at least 5 sentences long.

7th grade will createSkit about the Silk Road. They will perform as though they are living back in their day. The Skit must fit into the historical context, demonstrating what a typical lifestyle would be like back to that day. The students should try to address the questions such as : What kind of physical environment would you go through? What kind of transportation would you use? Why do you want to go through all the adventures? The background and the costumes must fit into the story.

Students will be divided into small groups and each group will create a skit about what if you live in that time and you traveled along the Silk Road, what would your life be like?

Students will break into groups of 5, and choose a topic out of topic pool. Each student in that group will be responsible for researching the chosen topic. Each group will then present thier findings, using visual aids to the class. Each group have 8 minutes to do their report. And each group needs to turn in a written summary of their presentation.

Each student will write a short research paper on how the local geographic environment affects the local people’s activities, such as How does the Tennessee River affect locals; How does the Great Smoky Mt. affect human activities in Knoxville? You can pick other examples that are related to this topic.

This writing assignment MUST be 50-100 characters. You can type or handwrite it. Write about your experience in Chinese restaurant. If you have never been one, you can write about the experience in other restaurant you have. This assignment is due on next Friday.
