Students will write a persuasive paragraph in which they state their position on the question provided by the prompt and persuade readers to see things their way. They will include three reasons to support their position, and support them well with details or examples. They also will include a concluding sentence.

Students will construct a mandala and incorporate a letter of the manual alphabet.

The purpose of this assignment is to raise awareness and critical thinking by working on a series (20-30 photos). The pictures must have something in common at the concept level. Examples: pictures of an event in sequence, a series of photos describing a process, a series of photos describing an idea, a series of photos that describe a place. All images show a clear conection to Artist Statement. No words/characters/numbers are allowed in telling your stories.

Students respond to literary text. Students will respond to prompts and answer questions related to the text.

You will be put into groups of four and will be asked to create a short play. After creating a short role play, your group will then perform your role play to a class.

Students will create a newscast about one Act in the play Macbeth of their choosing. They will work with their partners to research, compose, create, and perform their newscast.

Honors Poetry Portfolio: This project is the final assessment in the unit of Poetry. This is a two week task wherein students compile original poetry done in class showcasing the use of imagery, sound effects and rhyming, etc. Poems showcase various poetry styles learned, plus free verse poetry of the student.
