Animal Research Project - MB

In your ELAR Journal select a new page. Put the date, Book Title, Chapter # at the top. Then use the following headings: Main Idea, Supporting Details, PLOT, Character Development, Vocabulary, and Connections with 6-8 lines between each heading. Use complete sentences for your responses, your best handwriting, and think about punctuation. If I can't read it, I can't grade it! Enjoy!

In this project students will select a country to report on. Students will report on their countries origins, population, and everyday life. Students will list different items that are associated with their country. See Country Report for ALL categories in report.

Students will create a song, poem, or chant about a character from their book or events that have occurred.

Students design and produce wearable clothing from a minimum of three recycled, reused or repurposed items using an obvious theme. The final presentation will be a "fashion" show with student write-ups describing their clothing, theme and their recyclables. Clothing must include: a hat, shoes, a top and a bottom (pants or skirt) or dress and an accessory item, such as belt, jewelry, gloves, leg warmers, glasses, etc. Items must be able to hang on a hanger and be worn by the student

Students designed and constructed masks inspired by design elements used in Peruvian masks.

Student demonstrated understanding of how value creates shapes, and the drawing techniques (hatching/cross hatching/etc.) are used to create value. This is an assignment to teach the student the power of shading values, by drawing two dimensional shapes into three dimensional shaded forms.

This rubric will assess a 3-D art project with 3 levels of performance and 3 aspects of art project.

Students create a personal painting, choosing from one of the Four Gentlemen/Animal/or Nature, using Sumi-e painting techniques. Students learn how to use a brush to make gestural strokes. Students learn how to dilute a variety of values from black ink.

This award rubric is focused on leadership. The students will earn awards that recognize their leadership skills, character traits, and academic accomplishments. Students may earn awards recognizing their leadership skills, and positive leadership roles. The students may also explore leadership opportunities within the community and participate in experiential leadership activities.

Students will create a weaving: using cardboard looms, sticks, board looms, etc. using a variety of colors, embellishments (beads, feathers, etc.), from yarns/fabrics/string/ribbon/wire/t-shirt yarn/plastic bag yarn, or other materials. Completed work will be displayed.
