The student will make a newspaper including 5 articles and other features to share a chosen historical topic from the list provided.

This rubric will evaluate the participation of a student based on preparedness, behavior, attitude, accountability for actions and social interaction. At the end of each week student will honestly 'grade' themselves based on the points of each criteria. This grade and Ms.McSweeney's daily average will compile the students Class Points grade.

Rubric for skit presentations

Students will use this rubric for their weekly journal entries as well as in class writing prompts. For Journal entries, only a letter grade is assigned. For prompts, max score is 30/30.

Students will have random notebook checks.

Write an obituary for one character. Be sure to read a few obituaries online or in the newspaper for a better understanding of how an obituary is written. Also, follow the template provided.

Students Listen to presentations being delivered by peers, and are graded on being a good audience member.

Students will acquire all of the elements necessary to produce a yearbook spread. All elements will be placed on spread and styles will be applied.

Read the following grading criteria and grade yourself before handing anything into be graded or published.

Create a magazine cover that looks like a real magazine. Choose the title of the publication. Then, be sure you include a title, photos, headline articles, dateline and follow a monthly theme. Be creative and make the finished product look as professional as possible. Be aware of the marketability and audience appeal of your magazine. Follow all your desktop publishing guidelines using InDesign and Photoshop. The final project must be an Indesign document.

Rewriting a scene from Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth, or A Midsummer Night's Dream

The student will demonstrate how well they know the character by presenting a character wanted poster about the main character.

Is your monologue effectively memorized, and are you able to speak it out loud with accurate wording? You don't have to use other acting skills or blocking for this process. Focus on clean memorization and clear speech.
