This is the Council of Europe's Self Assessment Rubric. You are to use this TWICE a term. At the beginning of the term you are to complete it to get a snapshot of your current English Language proficiency. You are required to complete it a second time at the end of the term to document your progress. I have included the TOEIC equivalents but they should NOT determine how you complete this rubric. This should be completed according to what you believe your ability actually is.

In a group, you will create a fashion show all in French and you will each take turns being the commentators and the models. Your sentences must correspond with the clothing props you use. Please refer to the rubric below to be sure that you include all of the required elements.

Une scène d'hiver

Write a brief postcard to a penpal using topics covered in first six weeks. Postcard should include: greetings, to ask and tell how someone is, to say good-bye, a description of yourself using 'las partes del cuerpo' vocabulary, correct use of 'El y La', you must state the current date, your birthday, your birthday season and weather. You must use the postcard template passed out in class and must include and illustration that depicts items written in postcard.

This rubric is designed for a performance assessment in which Gr. 7 students, in assigned groups, will use vocabulary, grammar and language convention concepts to present a given post-card 'en français', in a unique and creative fashion, and get their message across without the use of english.

Vocabulary Builder: Students will create a PowerPoint presentation defining and illustrating new vocabulary words in French. Students will also use the new vocabulary in context appropriate sentences, provide images that describe the sentences and record their own voices reading each slide.

Students will write 5 or more grammatically correct sentences in French with the equivalent English. They are to describe the clothing worn by their "stuffy" using "Porter" in present tense and an adjective descriptor.

This rubric will evaluate how students work in the classroom in terms of completion, follow directions, and time management.

This is a final project for French class. You will be writing a children's book in French using the vocabulary you have learned this year. The 'book' must be at least 8 pages long and have 1 sentence per page. Each 'page' must be illustrated in color. The book must have a cover with a title and author.

Students will create a comic strip in French using words from the unit.
