Students will demonstrate their knowledge of paragraph organization by writing a 3-paragraph essay utilizing the writing process of planning, organizing, writing, evaluating and presenting the essay in relation to their reaction on the piece.

Students will utilize the 3-paragraph essay to address ONE of two themes addressed in the Dan Ariely Ted video: http://www.ted.com/talks/dan_ariely_on_our_buggy_moral_code.html? 1.PERSONAL FUDGE FACTOR What is your personal fudge factor? What do you tell yourself to make that fudge factor acceptable to yourself? Has your fudge factor changed over time? Is your experience with your personal fudge factor supported by the research cited in the video? Give examples. 2.INTUITIVE PRACTICES Dan Ariely tells his story about how his experience in the hospital influenced his desire to be a researcher. The practices of removing his bandages were not based on research but on an accepted intuition. There are many practices like this in our society. Identify one such intuitive practice. What questions do you have about the validity of this practice? What could you do to find an answer?
