Eighth grade art

The student will create an acrylic painting that uses the glazing technique. The painting will have a theme that reflects the ideas of Romanticism.

Eighth grade art

Students drew several leaves with oontour line. Students applied transparent watercolor to the drawing. Students applied the principles of movement, repetition and variation to their project.

Students will create a proportional skull sculpture out of clay (oo drawing on paper if blow-up occurs). After firing the skull with be painted with a pattern or design.

Students will create a sculpture out of foil and recreate it out of clay.

Students will learn about the style and works of Alberto Giacometti. They will compare and contrast Giacometti's works to that of August Rodin. After learning about additive sculpture, they will create a wire armature that shows some sort of human movent. The armature will be secured into a base with plaster of paris, then students will add both strip and clay mache to create their sculpture. Finally, the sculpture and will be painted, then augmented with a plaque that names the piece.
