This rubric is used to score students' book projects based on their independent reading. Book projects were chosen by each student based upon their strengths using Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligence test

Studenst will creat their own cartoon comic strip about the book

Using research gathered during prior activities the student will create sequential time line outlining the events of major historical significance in their subject's life.

The student will type a summary and personal response of their independent reading book of at least one page from the provided book list. Student will include the title, author, and number of pages. With in the summary students will use a topic sentence that cites their book and author using the IVF topic sentence structure. The summary should include the main characters, the conflict and resolution, a summary of the plot, and a personal connection to the book. Students will also complete the notes for their book and turn in those notes with the typed summary/personal response.

This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your PowerPoint presentation project. Each category in the far left column represents a component of the project that will be taken into consideration when calculating the final grade for this assignment. Review the rubric carefully before, during and after the creation of the PowerPoint presentation, to ensure that all intended elements of your powerpoint have been represented and all other criteria have been met.

Interview a character from The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle either as a newscaster (on television) or in a magazine article. The newscast will be presented as if being aired, and the magazine article will be written out as if in a magazine.
