This rubric will be used to determine if students completed the 3-D figure and foldable correctly, finding information about their 3-D figure

7.G.11 Solve problems involving scale drawings of geometric figures, including computing actual lengths and areas from a scale drawing and reproducing a scale drawing at a different scale. Students will develop a project using their knowledge of scale and proportion as well as scale factor, scale drawings and three-dimensional shapes to create a model based based on a picture that they have selected.

7.G.A.1: Solve problems involving scale drawings of geometric figures, including computing actual lengths and areas from a scale drawing and reproducing a scale drawing at a different scale.

Students will: 1) identify 10-20 Illustrations of Real-World Symmetry, 2) attach their pictures to a poster, 3) construct a correct line of symmetry in each, using a ruler, 4) draw their own image and use a MIRA to draw its reflection, and 5) describe the similarities and differences between a symmetric shape and a reflection, in full sentences, restating the question.

The students will work on their own to put together a poster for display. The student will interview someone and find the ways they use math eveyday. The poster should be colorful, creative and have examples of math in words and pictures. The poster is to be done on a full sheet of poster board.
