This rubric is designed to score the science fair presentations for MAVA. The pages described refer to .pptx format which is compatible with Blackboard presentations.

Students had to draw pictures of pushes and pulls and write captions explaining their pictures

Each trifold pamphlet will state the name of 3 instruments, show a drawn and colored picture of each instrument (clip art or magazine cut-outs may be supplemented but not in place of drawing) and provide an accurate and complete definition of the use and application of the instrument in measuring and predicting weather.

Each student will be assigned an ecosystem. Using a shoebox, they will creatively design their ecosystem, including all the requirements.

Students will be able to identify the three states of matter, give examples, and descriptions

Students will select and use a minimum of two vocabulary words from various Energy topics to create a poem, song, or rap that depicts an understanding and meaning of the chosen words. Students may select from a variety of poetry styles.

Groups of students will create a dictionary of rock and mineral terms.

Vocabulary and definitions.

Students will plan and build a bridge with Popsicle sticks, wood glue, string, and tooth picks.

This Rubric may be used for any Science Unit.

In this exercise you will be researching a specific type of air pollution, building a poster with the various information you collect, presenting the information in a clear and concise way, and thinking out steps and procedures that can be used to lesson the effects or threat of the pollutant.

Acrostic Poem for the layers of the Earth's atmosphere.

The student will create a new animal with 2-3 adaptations enabling it to survive in its environment.

Your manilla folder should have at least 7 sections. Each section should relay facts from the text book, other materials, in-class assignments and/or homework. Each flip/flap page for the planet flip book should have a name of a planet, a picture of the planet, and under the flap there should be facts about the planet from the text. You should have a Planet Acronym, Space Flash Cards, and Types of Galaxies, Inner and Outer comparison and Rotation and Revolution information. On the front of the manilla folder a colored card with the essential questions and topic studied.
