This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your project. Each category in the far left column represents a component of the project that will be taken into consideration when calculating the final grade for this assignment. Review the rubric carefully before, during and after the creation of the project, to ensure that all intended elements of your project have been represented and all other criteria have been met.

Critical thinking is characterized by the comprehensive exploration of issues, ideas, artifacts, and events before accepting or formulating an opinion or conclusion.

Students create and print out a tri-fold brochure

The students will work on their own to put together a poster for display. The poster will contain relevant information directly related to the topic selected by the student. The poster should have areas segmented that directly reflect the outline created by the student. The poster will be designed on either poster board (full-sized poster board) or tri fold poster board.

Write a newspaper article highlighting the invention of the printing press and it's impact locally, nationally or world-wide. Your article should show you understand the event(s) that took place, who was involved and demonstrate your knowledge of the components of a newspaper article. You may include a picture/chart to enhance your article, but it is to be a minor part of your article. Remember - "just the facts!" Must be YOUR ORIGINAL WORK.

This rubric is used to determine your individual class participation grade as applicable

Students will create a video that will be 3 to 5 minutes in length. Examples include: weather newscast, interview or skit that is school appropriate, school spirit video etc. The video must include each partner speaking. All members of the team will contribute and participate in the video. You may use others for your video. May be an individual project
