The article should be at least 100 words in length and if taken from the internet should be downloaded and printed out. Write a 1 page summary on the article (including WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN) if applicable.) You should end your summary by writing at least one paragraph giving your personal opinions, thoughts, feelings about the information in the article and how the article relates to physical, mental, or emotional health. Your summary should be typed or neatly written and stapled or clipped to the article. Make sure your name and class period is on your summary. You will give a brief presentation to the class. This assignment is worth 50 points.

Group has to prepare a 10-15 minute presentation displaying how all 11 body systems work together to and can be affected when a person is injuried to the point of expiration. This is to be presesented in front of the class. Presentation could be presented in a "found poem", oral report, rap, written charts and illustrations, readers' theater script, or even a skit.

Students will be researching a chosen drug in small groups (groups of TWO, with one group of three due to uneven class size), then sharing the collected information about the drug with the class. They will complete a research paper, as well as presentation. The presentation can take any form the students choose (poster, powerpoint, etc) and is open to creativity! The research paper and presentation should include the classification; proper name; street names; methods of consumption; history; effects on physical, mental/emotional, and social health; uses; and demographics (what types of people--some factors to consider would be race, gender, economic status, location, occupation, sexual orientation, etc.) of users. Any additional information will be rewarded with extra credit. The group must also present the class with a short 10 question quiz on their drug.

Read the article, provide a quick overview of the article's main points/issues/trends, and post a link to the article on Moodle, so others can read it. You also need to read one other student’s article and post a reply about the article and the student’s comments/overview. You may address the following questions in your article write-up: 1. What implications does the information presented have for students? 2. How may the implications affect you as a school leader or teacher? 3. What does it mean for teaching? Positive or negative change to the field?
