S8P4 Students will explore the wave nature of sound and EM radiation. e. Relate the properties of sound to everyday experiences. Objective: Students will research how musical instruments make sounds and the four basic categories of musical instruments (string, wind, brass, and percussion). Students will research, play, and present how the structure of their instrument produces and emits sound.

Students will choose a scientist, become the scientist, and research the scientist and his/her accomplishments, and make a presentation in the form of a project. Examples could be power point presentation, poster, art project, a demonstration of the scientists discoveries (small scale), a skit, etc.

Students will create a scale model of a residential or commercial/ industrial building using parts from a kit. They will be graded on each phase of construction: structural design, floor plan, landscape including and interior and exterior finishings.
