A generic rubric for scoring student created elapsed time word problems.

Students will use a pizza box to create a pizza and fractions for the toppings. Included will be adding and subtracting fractions, comparing fractions, simplifying fractions, identifying equivalent fractions, writing fractions in decimal form and plotting the decimal on a number line.

Students will determine the problem and solution of the story by reading the text and using details to support their solutions.

The students will compare and contrast 2 books that they have read. They will include 2 character comparisons, or 2 character contrasts, and compare and contrast the settings of the book.
