This article will encompass a cumulative application of skills learned in writing journalistic pieces throughout the year.

Students will read and research a famous person using books, magazines, and the internet. After completing their research, students will write down important facts about the person's early life and accomplishments. Students will write a biography that will include a important facts, a timeline, and a portrait of the person.

The following rubric may be used to assess a general collaborative writing product.

Research one of the approved topics from the available options. Submit one 4-5 page typed paper, double spaced, 12 point font following Chicago Manual Style Author - Date guidelines. Include a bibliography citing at least 4 academic/reliable resources used researching the paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and bibliography.
