The students will choose and read a book they select. They will then complete a final presentation which will include a newspaper layout and written work about the book. In addition, they will be present their project orally.

Students will use the checklist and rubric to create a tri-fold poster book report and present it to the class in a book talk, 3 minute maximum.

This rubric will be used to evaluate the research, poster presentation and oral presentation of a rocks and minerals topic chosen by the student.

Students will use the Internet to research 3 of 10 environmental issues that concern them and address certain criteria pertaining to their topic.

After you have read your book and filled out the book report form you will pretend it has been made into a movie. Create a POSTER advertising your "movie" (BOOK). Be sure to include the setting and main characters. You must fill all space on a standard poster board, which will be given to you. Do NOT copy the books cover...or an online summary! This WILL result in a grade of 0.5 All written aspects must be in your words!

The purpose of this unit is to facilitate student learning about mapping skills and geographic landforms. The student will select a country and develop a detailed presentation based on their creation. The student will to be able to present facts about their created country’s resources, culture, government, religion, geography, political atmosphere, social events, recreational pastimes, history, economics, etc. After the student has gdeveloped a detailed description of their country, they will develop a poster board presentation about their country.

Students will write a free-verse poem containing sensory details, interesting word choices, and punctuation that helps the reader.

Students are writing shape poem as a means of connecting parts of speech to writing.
