Students design and produce wearable clothing from a minimum of three recycled, reused or repurposed items using an obvious theme. The final presentation will be a "fashion" show with student write-ups describing their clothing, theme and their recyclables. Clothing must include: a hat, shoes, a top and a bottom (pants or skirt) or dress and an accessory item, such as belt, jewelry, gloves, leg warmers, glasses, etc. Items must hang on a hanger and be removable by the wearer.

The student will perform a personal memory monologue focusing on sensory details, vocal delivery and basic emotional believability

Students will make a cave drawing that represents a story. The drawing should include plants and animals, black lines, earth colored colors and will be on crumpled paper.

Create a project or essay that describes your feelings about one theme from the memories that Jonas receives from the Giver. Explore what your life would be like without this memory (ex. color, love, loss, death, sadness, happiness, etc). Projects could include, but are not limited to, a 3-5 page essay, collage, painting, sculpture, oral presentation, board game, etc. Be creative! Your project can be whatever you choose as long as it meets the requirements shown below. Please create a short description of how your project idea meets each requirement, and then discuss this with me in a one-on-one conference to get your idea approved. Students who write essays will be able to turn in drafts in order to receive feedback before they turn in their final copy. Students who create projects will be able to schedule conferences with me in place of a draft in order to receive feedback.

Puppet Show Presentation

students will be graded on their participation in class and their completion of the homework assigned each night.

Write a fractured fairy tale or fable. Students will choose a Cinderella fairy tale to rewrite using a different setting or a problem.
