Using the Declaration of Independence as your guide, create a Perry Center Student's Rights Declaration of Independence. You will be assessed on how you work together in a group, how well you follow the organization of the original Declaration of Independence, editing for conventions, word choice and ideas, and your presentation of the final document.

Groups will use the five parts of Jefferson's Declaration of Independence to write their own personal declarations.

You are fed up with all the rules imposed on you and have decided to do something about it. Using the format of the original Declaration of Independence, draft your own declaration. Include all sections reviewed in the lesson. You may use some of the same language as the Declaration of Independence but be sure your reader understands: 1. Your reason for writing, 2. What you feel your "natural" rights are, 3. the complaints you have, and 4. What you are doing about it.

This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your Padlet Presentation Project. When you have completed your Padlet, add Miss Roske and Mrs. Schommer as collaborators.

Specific Expectation: Students will create a map of the 13 colonies to show the relative positions of each colony by using shading and color. Students will drawing pictures to indicate variations in characteristics by using appropriate geographic features and colonies economic lively hood.
