This is an assignment to teach the student the power of shading values, by drawing three-dimensional shaded forms on a two-dimensional paper. The drawing will be drawn with a white colored pencil on black paper.

A rubric that properly evaluates the artistic process of using colored pencils as an artistic medium. It measures the various phases and approaches that are necessary in the assessment of a project or a work of art.

A project where the students get the chance to experiment with different techniques for shading. Students used shading pencils and color pencils to create different tones. You will turn in two final pieces.

The student will create a relief printmaking block using carved linoleum. The student will print an edition of 5 signed, numbered, and titled prints.

Students must include complex designs and follow instructions. 90% of the page must be filled with Zentangle designs. There must be 16 enclosed spaces with a different design in each one.

Create a Self Portrait or Portrait using selected mediums and incorporate a personal style with what makes you unique and what you love.

Mixed Media Project Art 3 Multiple steps to completion

Student's had a an independent project based on one of the following themes: 1930s, 1940s, The History of Jazz, Lost Love, Tell a Story from a found object, Food, My Family History (can only use a maximum of 3 photographs), One line from the lyrics of a song no more than one line,The South,Inspiration from a favorite book,Travel. Students had to create a composition that was able to express their connection to one of the above themes. Students will be graded on over all composition, connection with message to the artist, class spent in and out of the classroom, progress in their skill/design level, their critique and blog journal.

Students will learn about tessellations and the types of tessellations that exist in our world. Students will then create their own tessellation using a square and altering that square with specific tessellation criteria.
