Choose a god/goddess from Greek mythology and explain how this being embodies concepts from Greek life. Things to consider in your essay: What is he/she a god/goddess of? What function does he/she serve in society? How is he/she viewed by humanity? Use examples from specific myths.

Gods, Goddesses and Superheroes class reads a graphic novel, does an analysis on their individual novels and then compares answers in a group. Then, the groups present comparisons of analysis to the class. This is the rubric for the presentation.

Choose one of the GREAT EXPECTATION prompts from the Prompt page and write a five paragraph essay utilizing five-paragraph essay structure. Your essay should be typed and in MLA format. Attach this rubric to your essay if your essay is turned in in hard copy format.

Prompt: Choose a form of symbolism discussed in class that is found in ROMEO & JULIET. Explain the symbolism and give at least three specific examples found in the text that shows how that type of symbolism works within the play. Write five paragraphs for this. The introductory paragraph should contain a solid thesis statement and should give a thorough explanation of the chosen symbolism. Each of the three body paragraphs should give an example and explain in detail how that example relates to the symbolism. Transition sentences should flow well between paragraphs. The concluding paragraph should summarize all the examples and tie all main points back to the essay purpose. The essay should have exemplary grammar throughout.
