"Fatty Snacks" Project
In class, we have discussed the Food and Drug Administration’s role in regulating childhood obesity. In order to expand your understanding of the FDA’s laws to regulate childhood obesity, we will complete the following project. This project is an inquiry-based lesson which will allow us the opportunity to collect data related to the nutritional value, more specifically fats, of favorite snack foods. Using the scientific method, we will test favorite snack foods to determine the fat content of each tested snack food. Using the data, we will draw conclusions and make decisions based on results. Using Excel software, we will create appropriate graphs to represent data and show comparisons of the different tested snack foods.
