Students will make a newspaper including 7 articles and other features to illustrate important issues of the Progressive Era.

Student is to create a newspaper of six pages (8 1/2' x 11" - 3 pages both sides or 6 front side only) that includes both informational text and technologically imported pictures reflecting historical stories, cultural issues, and social information appropriate to this era. You must include at least six subject areas (news, cartoons, editorials, obituaries, social events, book/show reviews, business news, sports, advertisements, etc.) in your newspaper. You have literary license to make up appropriate stories and information to fit the situation, but must be historically accurate. Must be STUDENT ORIGINAL.

This is a rubric designed to measure a student's reflection and application on an assigned education journal article.

Student group are to create a power point presentation of 10 slides (excluding introductory, reference and concluding page) that discusses your assigned topic for Chapter 3. Slides are to include accurate information and pictures. Student must present information & power point presentation to the class. Information must be in depth; student will give appropriate credit to where information was gathered - NO PLAGIARISM. Must be STUDENT ORIGINAL. References must be listed in MLA format on the reference slide. The power point should have speaker notes that correlate to the written work submitted.

Environmental Health Project

Have you ever been watching television when a commercial for another country comes on? The country looks so inviting and pleasant from the commercial that you find yourself wanting to go there. Well your job is to create your own commercial for a country in Latin America. You will be persuading your classmates to go to your country. You may either create a video on a camcorder or a movie from movie maker. Your project must talk about the following things: the physical features, the culture, famous landmarks, and the history. How you do these things will be up to you. On Tuesday, December 8th you will be presenting your projects to the class. The project needs to be no shorter than four minutes and no longer than six minutes. Since I will be giving you time in class to work on these, I expect to see a well put together presentation.
