Monologue Performance

Biography of a character. (180-200 words)

Take the Wall of Text monologue we read in class and cut it down to 1:00-1:30 minutes. Choose a well-known character (from history or from popular culture) to perform the monologue as.

This rubric will evaluate the participation of a student based on preparedness, behavior, attitude, accountability for actions and social interaction. Participation grades are taken at every class.

Through improvisation students created informal scene illustrating concepts of character development and improvisational scene structure.

Find a fictional character from a movie, book, TV show, or other popular culture media that meets criteria for one or more psychological disorders in the DSM-IV-TR. Using this character, write a 3-4 page paper that discusses the following information: 1. A brief biography of the character 2. A current picture of what is going on in the character's life 3. The symptoms the character is exhibiting 4. The DSM-IV-TR diagnoses that have criteria met from these symptoms; or the ones that are not met and what is missing from the symptoms presented (e.g. subclinical; NOS; V codes) 5. Five Axis diagnosis

Write a persuasive argument using one of the given prompts. The persuasive essay must contain at least 3 fully developed supporting paragraphs. The paper must include proper sources and MLA citations.

Students perform a simple action that they have observed themselves doing. Each step is broken down into the smallest unit of action and is then written down, rehearsed, and performed.

Students will create a dramatic scene in which all group member have speaking parts.
